DESCRIPTION:These hands-on sessions at our sustainable food education charity in East Malling\, Kent\, give children the opportunity to grow\, harvest and cook seasonal vegetables\, support wildlife and care for our planet\, with tutors who have achieved Carbon Literacy certification. \n\n\n\nThis ticket is for a block booking of 5 sessions this term starting on Tuesday 16th September and continuing to 14th October. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme of learning: \n\n\n\n16/9 Practical – Help us get the garden and polytunnel ready for autumn and plant some of our winter crops. \n\n\n\n23/9 Vegetable Families – Know your onions! Learn about the different vegetables we grow and which families they belong to. \n\n\n\n30/9 Practical – As the temperature drops it’s still a busy time in the garden with lots of jobs to help out with. \n\n\n\n7/10 Seed Dispersal – Super seeds! Hands on experiments to find out how seeds are dispersed. \n\n\n\n14/10 Cook up a Feast! – Harvest and cook our fresh veg to make a tasty dish to share. \n\n\n\nDesigned to inspire young people to get outside and active with focused activities to engage and inspire them to learn more about the natural world. \n\n\n\nThe Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves. \n\n\n\nExperienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone\, including those with anxiety or sensory needs\, feels comfortable. \n\n\n\nWhilst acquiring valuable practical skills\, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature. \n\n\n\nRegistration at 9.20 am\, session runs 9.30am – 10.45am \n\n\n\nGood to know: \n\n\n\n\nThese sessions are for children aged 6-11. Please book a ticket per participant.\n\n\n\nOur 6-11 years session is ideal for older primary children and our 4-11 years session is ideal for families with children of different ages who enjoy learning together.\n\n\n\nBooking is essential.\n\n\n\nCompost toilet and hand washing facilities available on site\n\n\n\nFree parking is available.\n\n\n\n\nIf you have any questions please email us:  \n\n\n\neducation@communigrow.org.uk \n\n\n\n*Please note tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable to another event. If you are unable to attend\, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to someone else (please let us know the name and email address of the attendee)\, otherwise your ticket fee will be considered a donation to Communigrow.

DESCRIPTION:Interested in the natural world and caring for the environment? Want to gain practical skills and deepen your knowledge? \n\n\n\nOur hands on sessions at our sustainable food education charity in East Malling\, Kent\, give you the opportunity to grow\, harvest and cook seasonal vegetables\, support wildlife and care for our planet\, with tutors who have achieved Carbon Literacy certification. \n\n\n\nWhat you will do: \n\n\n\nHelp maintain the Communigrow garden\, learning about seed dispersal\, the use of herbs and how to propagate them. Help manage our meadow and create habitats for native species as the days get cooler. Cook up a storm using our sustainably grown veg!
