DESCRIPTION:Take inspiration from the beautiful flowers and plants around you in the Communigrow Community Garden and build two items of your very own design over a two hour session in our yurt.  \n\n\n\nTutored by local ceramicist Anita Oakley\, you will dip into slab work\, coiling\, and pinch pots. Learn about the different vegetables we grow and which families they belong to. \n\n\n\n30/9 Practical – As the temperature drops it’s still a busy time in the garden with lots of jobs to help out with. \n\n\n\n7/10 Seed Dispersal – Super seeds! DESCRIPTION:These hands-on sessions at our sustainable food education charity in East Malling give children the opportunity to grow\, harvest and cook seasonal vegetables\, support wildlife and care for our planet\, with tutors who have achieved Carbon Literacy certification. \n\n\n\nThis ticket is for a block booking of 7 sessions this term starting on Tuesday 3rd June and continuing to 15th July. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nProgramme of learning: \n\n\n\n3/6 Pond Dipping – Discover the creatures making our wildlife pond their home \n\n\n\n10/6 Practical – Get growing on the field \n\n\n\n17/6 Wonderful Water! – FInd out how we use water wisely and how important it is for the plants and creatures at Communigrow \n\n\n\n24/6 Practical – There are lots of jobs to be done at this time of year\, help us keep the veg in tip top condition \n\n\n\n1/7 Marvellous Meadows! – Learn to identify different grasses\, and the creatures that live in these amazing ecosystems \n\n\n\n8/7 Practical – Join in with practical activities on the field \n\n\n\n15/7 Cook up a feast! – Harvest fresh veg to make a tasty dish \n\n\n\nDesigned to inspire young people to get outside and active with focused activities to engage and inspire them to learn more about the natural world. \n\n\n\nThe Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves. \n\n\n\nExperienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone\, including those with anxiety or sensory needs\, feels comfortable. \n\n\n\nWhilst acquiring valuable practical skills\, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature. \n\n\n\nRegistration at 11.05 am\, session runs 11.15am – 12.30pm \n\n\n\nGood to know: \n\n\n\n\nThese sessions are for children aged 4-6.
