Description
This is a block of 7 sessions running from Tuesday 5th November.
Winter programme for young people in Home Education at our sustainable food education charity and 5* RHS Gardening School.
These hands-on practical sessions for older children cover the basics of growing vegetables for a year round harvest.
This can be a quiet time in the garden so we will focus on food we can grow at home as well as maintaining the polytunnel. We will look at soil in more detail, prepare mulches and compost. We will also study wildlife on the field and how mammals are adapted to cope with the winter months.
The Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves.
Experienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone, including those with anxiety or sensory needs, feels comfortable.
Whilst acquiring valuable practical skills, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature.
Registration at 12.50 pm, session runs 1pm – 2.15pm
Please note: Each session is now 15 minutes longer.
