The Field School

A Unique Learning Environment

The Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves.

Experienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone, including those with anxiety or sensory needs, feels comfortable.

Whilst acquiring valuable practical skills, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature.

Children and young people thrive in our tranquil yet stimulating environment.

Our 24ft traditional yurt serves as an all weather classroom and our field shelter made of reclaimed wood allows year round outdoor learning. The wildlife pond provides fascinating pond dipping sessions and our stunning wildflower meadows give ample opportunity for bug hunting.

Field to Fork

Communigrow inspires a more adventurous palate and an enjoyment of fresh, healthy food. Children and young people grow fresh vegetables and enjoy our produce in regular field to fork outdoor cooking sessions.

Schools

Day visits are tailored for each school to meet their learning outcomes. We can offer sessions to fit your curriculum including science, cookery and nutrition, and the environment. We want your children to leave feeling inspired after a fun packed day of exploration.

We also provide weekly sessions for schools and run in school-gardening clubs as part of our community outreach programme.

Our popular Plant, Nurture, Harvest programme runs weekly in term time for home educated children and young people.

In these hands on sessions students also have the opportunity help with the growing and wildlife areas on the site.

Our weekend and holiday workshops provide an opportunity for children and young people to get active and enjoy being outside.

For upcoming sessions, visit our shop page and social media accounts or make an enquiry.
