Hands-on Autumn programme for children in Home Education at our sustainable food education charity and 5* RHS Gardening School.

Programme of learning:

17/9 Beautiful Beetles – go on a beetle safari and find out about these amazing minibeasts

24/9 Get Growing (practical) – get the garden ready for autumn and plant some of our winter crops

1/10 Fabulous Fungi – learn all about mushrooms and how to identify them safely

8/10 Get Growing (practical) – Practical activities on the field including emptying our leaf mould bays ready for this year’s collection

15/10 Super Spiders – love them or hate them, discover more about these fantastic creatures

22/10 Cooking up a Feast! – harvest and prepare the ingredients for an autumnal feast

 

The Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves.

Experienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone, including those with anxiety or sensory needs, feels comfortable.

Whilst acquiring valuable practical skills, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature.

Registration at 9.20 am, session runs 9.30am – 10.45am

Please note: Each session is now 15 minutes longer.

This is a block of 6 sessions running from Tuesday 17th September.

 

Good to know:

  • These sessions are for children (ages 4-11). Please book a ticket per participant. The programme covers 6 lessons (£40 per person)
  • Booking is essential.
  • Compost toilet and hand washing facilities available on site
  • Free parking is available.
