Description

Autumn programme for young people in Home Education at our sustainable food education charity and 5* RHS Gardening School.

These hands-on practical sessions for older children cover the basics of growing vegetables for a year round harvest. Practical tasks on the field include sowing seeds, planting winter crops, maintaining the polytunnel and preparing compost, mulches etc for overwintering. We will also look at wildlife on the field and how to help it prepare for the winter.

The Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves.

Experienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone, including those with anxiety or sensory needs, feels comfortable.

Whilst acquiring valuable practical skills, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature.

Registration at 12.50 pm, session runs 1pm – 2.15pm

Please note: Each session is now 15 minutes longer.

This is a block of 6 sessions running from Tuesday 17th September.
