This is a block of 7 sessions running from Tuesday 5th November.
Hands-on Winter programme for children in Home Education at our sustainable food education charity and 5* RHS Gardening School.
Programme of learning:
5/11 Super Soil – hands on experiments to investigate how soil is formed, how we use it and how we can improve it
12/11 Practical – it might be getting colder but there are still lots of jobs to do in the Autumn/Winter garden including making leaf mould
19/11 Wonderful Worms – find out more about these wiggly wonders and make a mini wormery
26/11 Practical – help us get the garden ready for winter
3/12 Marvellous Mammals – find out more about our furry friends and how you can help them survive the winter months
10/12 Harvest and prepare seasonal veg for a winter feast!
17/12 Winter Celebration- make a natural table decoration and other seasonal treats
The Field School at Communigrow is a relaxed outdoor setting where young people can be themselves.
Experienced tutors and absorbing activities mean that everyone, including those with anxiety or sensory needs, feels comfortable.
Whilst acquiring valuable practical skills, learners grow in confidence and experience the mental health benefits that come with spending time in nature.
Registration at 11.05 am, session runs 11.15am – 12.30pm
Please note: Each session is now 15 minutes longer.
Good to know:
- These sessions are for children (ages 4-11). Please book a ticket per participant. The programme covers 7 lessons (£46.50 per child)
- Booking is essential.
- Compost toilet and hand washing facilities available on site
- Free parking is available.
